In an attempt to better prepare should the Cursed Ones return I've begun to experiment in creating my own Xyz Monsters. During one of the tests we found out that it was nearly impossible to Xyz two monsters of different levels; the difference in levels was too important a factor.

Remember, I said NEARLY impossible.

With help from ol' Kaiba-boy I managed to get my hands on an interesting device. It is a Matter Distorter used for.....well whatever it was used for. Didn't care much for the specifics really. Anyways with a little tweaking here and there and the proper modifications I was able to convert it into something that could be used to test the above theory. I called it the Xyz Force Manipulator. It's goal was to force an Xyz of two incompatible monsters to get a result, hopefully one that would yield good results.

The machine worked. Though, the resultant was...quite interesting:


I actually thought that the forced creation would merge the levels of the two, creating a higher Rank much like Synchro Summons. But instead it seems to have created an Xyz Monster who's Rank is equal to the mean between the Levels of the two monsters used, giving them half a Rank...

This has been dubbed the Imperfect Xyz. Strangely enough the energies required to power the machine and force the creation seems to have supercharged the card, making it stronger than the two common ranks that it lies between. However, the drawback is the instability.

I will continue to experiment with the potential of the Xyz monsters and their imperfect counterparts. In the meanwhile these new cards require testing on the field, to make sure there are no extra surprises. Any duelist wishing to use an Imperfect Xyz must take note of a few important things:

● They can only be summoned with the power contained in the Xyz Force Manipulator; it is currently the only source strong enough to trigger the summon. I have provided a card version of the actual machine to use.
● Each Xyz monster will likely have some sort of stability issues with it. While only one has been discovered I cannot say for sure there won't be others.
● Imperfect Xyz Monsters are kinetically charged past their intended limit in order to create them. This gives them their own level of enhanced power and abilities.
● There can be no other Xyz Monsters on the same side of the field. Their incompatibility would result in an unstable reaction and destroy the Imperfect Xyz, and sometimes the Xyz Monster as well.

Thought I'd make it official. I'm going to start taking requests for Imperfect Xyz. Ask me and I shall attempt to make it happen!
